Where are your bags made?

Our bags are handcrafted with love by skilled artisans in our studio in Dallas, TX since 2003.

How are your bags animal-free and cruelty-free?

Our bags are made of eco-conscious synthetic and natural fibers. Our vegan leather is made of premium 100% polyurethane (PU) and our bags are lined with 100% natural unbleached cotton canvas. We don't use any materials or supplies made from/derived from animals (leather, fur, feathers, wool, silk, etc.) in our bags or in the production of it. We also don't test our products on animals!

Our Dallas-based artisans and partners are paid above the minimum wage and work in our safe and happy studio :Đ

Why don't you use animal leather?

It's just cruel! There are many animal-free and eco-friendly options to animal skin. The leather industry is not only cruel to animals but also to people and our planet.

Animal Cruelty
Animals used for their skins endure confinement, crowding, unanesthetized mutilations, abuse, and slaughter. The skins can come from cattle, calves, horses, sheep, lambs, goats, pigs, and even cats and dogs.
"Buying leather directly supports the cruelty of factory farming and the misery of the slaughterhouse since skin accounts for 55-66% of the byproduct value of cattle." - PETA

Human & Environmental Cruelty
An animal's skin is living tissue, it decomposes. To stop the decomposition and make the skin wearable, 90% of tanneries in the world use at least 200 toxic chemicals such as chromium, formaldehyde, mineral salts, coal-tar derivatives, cyanide-based oils and dyes. Tannery workers and people living near tanneries have suffered/died from exposure to these chemicals - which also pollute the grounds, water, and air around them.

We only buy materials we need, to make bags to-order and keep a very small inventory. We're a part of the slow-fashion movement, not the fast-fashion industry so we don't throw away tons of unsold products and materials into the landfill after each season. Our bags are handcrafted to last many seasons. Since we make our bags locally in Dallas and buy USA Made materials when possible, we're reducing our carbon footprint in shipping as well. We also repurpose any unused bags/materials to create new bags and practice Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. We are striving to be more sustainable each and every day.

We care about the exterior packaging as well and use 100% recycled shipping materials.

How do I clean my bag?

Our vegan leather bags are highly stain and water resistant which makes them very easy to clean and maintain. For exterior and interior dirt and stains, spot clean with mild soap and water. For more persistent stains use undiluted Isopropyl Alcohol or a 3:1 Bleach solution.

For our Eco Canvas bags without vegan leather trims or backing, wash separately in cool or warm water using a gentle machine cycle and phosphate-free detergent. Machine dry using a low temperature setting. If required, use an iron with a light touch on a synthetic setting only. Higher temperatures may result in color transfer and melting of fabric.
