I'm Blake Geary, the new intern extraordinaire at Cykochik. You can call me Blake, Blakie or Blakely, but please don't call me Blondie. Please.
For those of you who don’t know Cykochik, let me fill you in. Cykochik is a vegan custom-handbag company run by Nikki Duong Koenig, who started the company in her dorm room at SMU-in her dorm room. What have I been doing with my life? Talk about underachieving.
All bags are created in Dallas, designed by artists from around the country and all materials used are 100% vegan. As an animal rights advocate and vegan, I love Cykochik because of their belief that cruelty-free handbags can look like a million bucks.
I’ll be working closely with different social media platforms to reach out to the vegan community and beyond, to show them how fabulous a compassionate lifestyle can be. What's the most surprising thing you carry?
I'm not sure. It's probably a tie between foreign coins, a guitar pick (I don't even play?) and a passport. But hey, you never know when you might need to flee the country with a band in need of a pick.
What do you absolutely love about your Cykochik bags?
I love how perfectly it fits everything I need and shows off my compassionate lifestyle with the PETA rabbit. I feel so proud to wear both Cykochik and PETA around my wrist.
Do you have anything exciting/fun planned?
I just returned from a six-week adventure in London and Ireland where I learned a lot about International Advertising, the British media and myself. Before school starts I'm hoping to go hiking in Colorado with my mom and sisters.
