Monica Moody is an artist living in the 'burbs of Dallas, TX. Most known for her vibrant paintings with alcohol-based inks, she also enjoys pyrography (woodburning), printmaking, illustration, and mixed media. Her subjects vary, but some recurring themes prevail: music, nature, portraiture, and anatomy.

Monica has worked as a graphic designer for many years and feels that has influenced her style; she tends to be a perfectionist in general but has learned to appreciate and sometimes rely on “happy little accidents”.

One of her favorite quotes, “Not all those who wander are lost” (J.R.R. Tolkien) describes how Monica feels about her approach to art. She explains, “As one who constantly experiments in various media, I am not bound to one path or destination. It’s more about the journey: what I discover, how I explore, and who I become along the way. A beautiful work of art may be the desired destination, but it is the process itself - my wandering - that I adore most and that allows me to grow as an artist."

Monica's work has been shown locally in the Bath House Cultural Center, Kettle Art Gallery, The Basement Gallery, WAAS Gallery, EVOL Society Gallery, White Space Gallery, and the Janette Kennedy Gallery. She is a three-time participant in Art Con (8, 9 and X) and has enjoyed exhibiting and creating live in many events produced by ArtLoveMagic. Monica has had three solo exhibitions, including a two-month feature at the Warehouse Living Arts Center in her hometown of Corsicana, TX where she exhibited a collection that spanned three years of her work.

In addition to creating art, Monica is passionate about music (particularly rock and roll) and coffee. She is a wife and mother of two humans, two dogs, and one cat. She loves all things Apple and makes a mean French toast.
